Introduction

This Special Instruction provides details for assembling the hose assemblies for the engine water line on the machines that are listed above.

Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until you have read the information and you understand the information.

Required Parts

The following table lists the hoses, hose lengths, parts, and specifications necessary to assemble each hose. The table also lists a hose type for each hose assembly. Refer to the corresponding hose type illustration in "Hose Types" to view tape locations and other measurements not listed in this table.

Note: Wrap the hose 3 times with 163-4519 Tape in the locations specified in the table above. One roll of tape provides approximately 3 m (10 ft) of tape. The wrapped tape helps locate the P-clips that support the hose.

Note: A 434-2713 Tee Fitting is also required for the assembly of type 3 hoses.

When the hose assembly is equipped with a 262-0494 Clamp (Worm-Drive) use a 7mm Hex-head nut driver to tighten the clamp to 2.5 ± 0.5 N·m (22 ± 4 lb in).

A 468-5111 Clamp (Spring) can be replaced with a 5P-4961 Hose Clamp (Worm-Drive). Use a 7mm Hex-head nut driver to tighten the clamp to 2.5 ± 0.5 N·m (22 ± 4 lb in).

A 262-0494 Clamp (Worm-Drive) can be replaced with a 365-9882 Spring Clamp.
