AP255E Asphalt Paver Engine Supplement Caterpillar

System Pressure - Release

Usage:

AP-255E D8A

Release Procedure

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.

Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.

Make sure all of the work tools have been lowered to the ground, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.

----------------------

  1. Park the machine on a smooth horizontal location.

  1. Activate the parking brake.

  1. Stop the engine and turn the start switch to the ON position.

  1. Move all hydraulic controls to positions that release any pressure in the hydraulic system. Turn the start switch to the OFF position.

  1. All machine hydraulic systems share the hydraulic tank. Carefully loosen the filler cap on the hydraulic tank in order to release any pressure in the tank.

  1. Tighten the filler cap on the hydraulic tank.

  1. The pressure in the system has now been released and lines or components can be removed.
