Introduction

This Special Instruction contains the field installation procedures required to install Product Link Kits on F2 Series Backhoe Loaders.

General Information

Many of the Illustrations in this instruction are not shown as a complete machine. Many of the graphics have components removed to better Illustrate the routing of electrical wires and placement of components. Use standard torque values for all fasteners except where otherwise called out.

Upon completing the equipment installation, Refer to Special Instruction, REHS8850, "Installation Procedure for the Elite Product Link PLE641 and PLE631 Systems" for setup instructions of Satellite systems and Special Instruction, REHS9111, "Installation Procedure for Product Link PL641 and PL631 Systems" for Cellular systems.

Note: Product Link requires the heavy-duty battery pack 457-2797 Battery Gp to be installed in order to function correctly. Installing product link with the standard battery installation may result in a discharged battery.

  1. Remove roof cap (H) .

    Illustration 10g03805614

  1. Drill a 10 mm (0.39 inch) hole into roof cap (H) in the pre-defined indentation located on the front right-hand corner of the roof. De-burr the hole to remove all sharp edges.

  1. Route 379-2153 Cable As (4) through the drilled hole in roof cap (H). Ensure a minimum bend radius of 25 mm (0.98 inch) is maintained to prevent damage to the coaxial cable.

    Illustration 11g03805624

  1. Prepare the surface of (J) on roof cap (H). The surface must be clean and dry prior to antenna installation, clean with a 1:1 mixture of water and Isopropyl Alcohol.
