Window Wiper and Wiper Motor (Front) - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove steering wheel.

  1. Remove bolts (3) and plate (2). Relocate floor mat (1).

  2. Remove cover (4). Disconnect harness assemblies (5). Remove cover (6).

  3. Remove cover (7). Separate lower panel (8) at Location (X). Remove lower panel (8).

  4. Remove bolts (9). Remove mat (10). Remove bolt (11).

  5. Lean cover assembly (12) rearward toward the steering column.

  6. Disconnect cable assembly (13) from the latch. Remove nut (14), feed the cable assembly (13) out of the bracket.

  7. Raise caps (15) and remove nuts (16). Remove nuts (17).

  8. Disconnect harness assembly (18). Remove front wiper motor (19).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install front wiper motor (19) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten nuts (17) to a torque of 15 N·m (133 lb in).

    2. Tighten wiper arm nut (16A) to a torque of 24 N·m (212 lb in), allow to relax for 30 minutes. Retorque to a torque if 24 N·m (212 lb in).

    3. Tighten wiper arm nut (16B) to a torque of 40 ± 5 N·m (30 ± 4 lb ft), allow to relax for 30 minutes. Retorque to a torque of 40 ± 5 N·m (30 ± 4 lb ft).
