Operational Checks

Operate the work tool in each direction and at different engine speeds. Note the noises that are not normal and find the sources of the noises. If the work tool is not operating properly, refer to the following troubleshooting problem list.

Verify that the hydraulic system of the host machine is functioning properly. Refer to the Testing and Adjusting procedures of the host machine.

Troubleshooting Problem List

Problem 1

The quick coupler works erratically or the quick coupler fails to work.

Probable causes

• The fuse for the cab switch has been blown.

• Electrical wires are broken.

• The voltage to the magnetic coil is incorrect.

• The solenoid valve is dirty or damaged.

• The hydraulic cylinder check valve is contaminated.

• The hydraulic hoses are connected incorrectly or the hydraulic hoses are leaking.

• The mechanisms for the linkage are binding during operation.

The coupler system must operate with full machine hydraulic pressure. Refer to the specifications for your machine for exact hydraulic pressures.
