Description of Change: Blue Loctite 242 sealer is used to improve retention of fasteners on certain Asphalt Compactors and Vibratory Asphalt Compactors.

Adaptable To: Adding Blue Loctite 242 ^TM (1) sealant can improve retention of the fasteners on vibratory motor hub coupling and vibratory motor shaft.

(A) Fastener (B) Fastener (1) blue Loctite 242

1. Remove Fasteners (A) and (B).

2. Apply blue Loctite 242 (1) to the threads on all of the fasteners.

3. Install Fastener (B) and torque to 55 N·m (40 lb ft).

4. Install Fasteners (A) and torque to 28 N·m (20 lb ft). When torquing these fasteners, use a star pattern and repeat torque procedure.

5. Repeat the process for the opposite drive shaft.
