NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat^® products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove cover assembly (1).

Note: Note: Do not attempt to pry or pull the tabs out of the connections on hose assemblies (2) as damage will occur. Push down on the fitting and push the tabs inward before pulling up in order to disconnect hose assemblies (2).
Disconnect hose assemblies (2) and (3). Disconnect harness assemblies (4).

Clamp off hose assemblies (5) with Tooling (A). Disconnect hose assemblies (5).

Remove bolts (7) and remove diesel exhaust fluid pump assembly (8).

Cut cable straps (10). Disconnect harness assemblies (9), (11), and (12). Position harness assembly (13) out of the way.

Remove bolts (14), (15), and (17). Remove bracket assembly (16).

Remove bolts (18) and diesel exhaust fluid pump (19).

Note: Place identification marks on DEF pump coolant connectors (20) and DEF pump connectors (21) for installation purposes. DEF pump coolant connectors (20) and DEF pump connectors (21) are not interchangeable.
Remove DEF pump coolant connectors (20) and DEF pump connectors (21) from diesel exhaust fluid pump (19).

Install diesel exhaust fluid pump (19) in the reverse order of removal.
1. Tighten DEF pump connectors (21) to a torque of 4.5 ± 0.5 N·m (40± 4 lb in).
2. Tighten DEF pump coolant connectors (20) to a torque of 5.5 ± 0.5 N·m (48 ± 4 lb in).
3. Tighten bolts (18) to a torque of 10 ± 2 N·m (89 ± 18 lb in).
4. Apply Tooling (B) to the O-ring seals inside hose assemblies (3).
