New VIMS software is now available on the machines that are listed above. The new software has varying improvements on flash file and configuration files.

Flash File Improvements and Enhancements

458-8202 Monitor Software Gp (Main Module)

  • Added support to send list of active events to Cat MineStar, upon request.

  • Added support for TOPE GPS position update using NMEA information.

  • Added support for "Ping" and "Traceroute" command into Communicator webpage, for troubleshooting wireless connectivity.

  • Enhanced Communicator Scheduled Time. Will pay attention to the actual time for scheduled reporting, rather than the time elapsed since the last actual file push.

  • High/Mid Precision GPS App File webpage refresh added to prevent from showing "unavailable" after Key Cycle.

  • Enhanced response to Cat MineStar when asked to create and push files that VIMS does not support for a particular machine (Example: Cycle timer).

  • Optimized TMAC server to prevent issues observed when multiple Cat MineStar clients are requesting reports.

  • Improved communicator download schedule timer to prevent resetting during a key cycle. Will execute communicator push to set schedule, irrespective of any machine key cycles that could happen in between.

  • Enhanced VIMS for synchronizing ECM time with GPS UTC time for all VIMS reports. Both TOPE and Cat MineStar messages do report GPS time correctly.

  • Correction of GPS position coordinates randomly reporting "0", to TOPE

  • Enhancement to VIMS file cleaning mechanism to remove orphaned report files, older than 4 hours.

  • Enhanced information processing of GPS mode to TOPE, for reporting loss of GPS communication or physical connection to the receiver.

  • Software optimization to reduce memory usage, causing resets.

Enhancements made to either reduce or eliminate:

  • Loss of VIMS file push (Communicator) or pull failures Cat MineStar request.

  • Loss of Ethernet communication to Cat MineStar and TOPE.

Enhancements made to improve CANip communications between Main and Application modules. This should reduce or eliminate:

  • Logging of 246-9 diagnostic codes

  • Loss of payload report file processing through Communicator and or loss of payload messages.

449-8589 Monitor Software Gp (Application Module)

  • Enhancement to VIMS file cleaning mechanism to remove orphaned report files, older than 4 hours.

  • Enhancement to Truck Payload Calibration to abort when strut pressures are zero or below zero (sensors not connected or faulted).

  • Enhancements to TPMS to use filtered strut pressures values.

  • Software optimization to reduce memory corruption, causing resets.

  • Enhancement to prevent machine ECMs logging 1089-14 against VIMS App ECM, upon quick key cycle.

Configuration File Improvements and Enhancements

Note: The Improvements and Enhancements do not pertain to all F Series Models. Below you will see the Improvements and enhancements that relate to the specific models.

Main Module

  • Enhanced Tire Monitoring system-related histograms (All F Series).

  • Enhanced data link diagnostics being reported against other ECMs. FMI 14 support against Engine, Chassis, and App Module ECMs has been eliminated (All F Series).

  • Implemented support for hoist pressure parameters and trends (only 797F).

  • Enhanced gear shift count for APECS lockup clutch engagement time histogram (793F / 797F).

  • Addressed left to right exhaust temperature differential datalogger and trend reporting (All F Series).

  • Corrected TKPH trends to report data (All F Series).

  • Corrected ERSET functionality interface to Advisor (All F Series).

  • Corrected reporting of payload weight and ground speed for Active Event messages to Cat MineStar (All F Series).

  • Corrected Post Engine Shutdowns Events that were not being triggered (All F Series).

  • Enhanced HPGPS faulted state to indicate "No Receiver" on TOPE (All F Series).

  • Enhanced Engine Idle Time cumulative (All F Series).

  • Enhanced Actual Gear State to indicate "Park state" in the webpage (793F/ 797F).

  • Implemented support for speed based reweigh - (793F/797F).

  • Renamed "Transmission Speed" to "Transmission Output Speed" in the web pages (793F/ 797F).

  • Corrected Trip Data Cumulative for Travel Distance (F Series AC trucks).

  • Enhanced ECM info webpage support to include all ECMs supported (Only 793F AMT).

  • Corrected Forward Travel Distance cumulative that was incorrectly reported as Travel Distance (793F/ 797F).

  • Added support for Right to Left Exhaust Temp Differential channel to the webpage. Also addressed incorrect units reported for this channel. (All F Series).

  • Corrected post engine shutdown for Event 361 WCI 3 from engine ECM, to not pop up multiple shutdown message that were related to this event (All F Series).

  • Corrected travel time total to be resettable through Advisor.

  • Changed Motor Control ECM CIDs to use 3643 and 3644 against the Motor Control 1 and Motor Control 2 ECMs, respectively (F Series AC trucks)

  • Removed support for Alternator R-Terminal Speed (F Series AC trucks)

  • Corrected ECM name being displayed in the datalogger report to indicate Main Module for Generator.

  • Average RMS channel (F Series AC trucks)

Enhanced VHS action for 793F AMT

  • VHS action for EID 2126 WCI 2 changed from Limit Machine Speed (level 3) to Failed but functional (level 1)

  • VHS action for CID 2183-13 changed from Failed and Non-Functional, Continue Operation (level 2) to Stop Machine Safely (level 4).

  • VHS action for EID 237 WCI 2 changed from Limit Machine Speed (level 3) to Failed but functional (level 1).

Application Module
