Parking

Usage:

794 AC MN5
Park the machine on a level surface and install wheel chocks. When you park the machine on a grade, turn the wheels into a suitable bank, when possible.

  1. Release accelerator pedal (3).

  2. Reduce the speed of the truck using retarder pedal (2) to a stop position.

    Note: Service brakes will automatically apply when retarder pedal is depressed at speeds below 3 km/h (2 mph).

  3. Move the shift control lever (4) to the P position.

  4. Park brake indicator (5) will illuminate once all pressure has been released from park brakes.

    Note: When the parking brake is engaged, parking brake indicator (5) will illuminate.

  5. Turn the engine start switch (6) to the OFF position in order to stop the engine.

  6. Place the battery disconnect switch (1) in the OFF position. Place a padlock on the switch in order to secure (lockout) the switch in the OFF position, if the machine will not be in operation for an extended amount of time. This will prevent current discharge of the battery. Any of the following conditions can cause a current discharge of the battery: a battery short circuit and any current draw from certain components
