NOTICE

In order to install the bearing cap correctly the retaining ring must face towards the suspension cylinder when installed. An incorrectly installed bearing cap may result in cap bearing failure and/or front suspension cylinder failure.


The installation of the front suspension group in Special Instruction, REHS5076, "Assembly Procedure for the 789DOff-Highway Truck" has been updated. Refer to Illustration 1 for the correct orientation of the bearing cap for installation.

For a complete list of material and the correct procedure that is needed in order to install the front suspension group, refer to Special Instruction, REHS5076, "Assembly Procedure for the 789DOff-Highway Truck". The special instruction can be found on the Caterpillar service information system (SIS) and through the normal literature distribution system at your local Cat dealer.

Note: The service manuals listed in Table 1 have also been updated.
