Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Remove bolts (1), cap (2), and shims (3) from the lift cylinder rod. Note the quantity and the location of the shims for assembly purposes.

- Start the machine.
- Retract the lift cylinder rod.
- Stop the machine.
- Attach a suitable lifting device to stabilizer link (4). The weight of stabilizer link (4) is approximately 80 kg (175 lb).

- Remove bolts (5), retainer (6), and the pin (7) .
- Secure stabilizer link (4) to the machine, this will allow the machine to be moved.
- Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release".
- Disconnect hose assemblies (8).

- Position suitable blocking under push arm and blade assembly (9), as shown.

- Remove bolts (10), bearing cap (11), and the shims from push arm (9). Note the quantity and the location of the shims for assembly purposes.
- Repeat Steps 10 and 11 for the opposite side.
- Move the machine away from push arm and blade assembly (9) .

Installation Procedure
- Install push arm and blade assembly (9) in the reverse order of removal.
- Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 520 ± 70 N·m (384 ± 52 lb ft).
- Tighten bolts (10) evenly. Insert an equal amount of shims between the bearing cap (11) and push arm and blade assembly (9), as needed.
- Add one additional shim to each of the spaces. The specified clearance between the trunnion and the push arm assembly is 0.2 mm (0.008 inch) to 1.0 mm (0.040 inch).
- Tighten bolts (10) to a torque of 1800 ± 200 N·m (1328 ± 148 lb ft).
