Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
The 6G-3207 Thrust Washer or the 328-9668 Thrust Washer may break and/or prematurely wear. If excessive thrust washer wear is detected, then replace the thrust washer with like parts to prevent major damage from occurring. The following procedure will help determine thrust washer wear before housing damage occurs.
Perform the following procedure every 250 hours of machine service.
Solution
This procedure will help determine thrust washer wear before housing damage occurs.
Tandem Sag Measurement Procedure
- With the machine on level ground, place a scale between the enclosure on top of the walkway. Record the distance from the enclosure to the edge of the walkway (A) on the table.

- Raise the back of the machine into the air. Check dimension (B) using the same reference points on the enclosure and the walkway as shown in (A). Record this measurement.

- Subtract the value found in Step 1 from the value found in Step 2, and record this difference on the table. The difference is the tandem sag measurement.
- If the tandem sag measurement reaches 7.0 mm (0.28 inch) or more, then schedule an immediate rebuild to prevent square or top hat housing damage.
- Repeat this process on the other side of the machine.
Note: The measurements are taken from the top of the walkway. A measurement from top of the tandem housing will not be accurate.
