The space between the body and the frame becomes a zero clearance area when the body is lowered. Failure to install the retaining cable can result in injury or death to personnel working in this area.

Properly support the component with a suitable lifting device during removal or installation.


------ WARNING! ------

The Power Train Electric Drive System and the Accessory Power System will contain hazardous voltage levels during machine operation and for a period of time after machine shutdown.

Do not remove any covers that will expose energized electrical components while the engine is operating. Do not remove any covers that will expose the energized electrical components while the components remain energized following an engine shutdown.

Do not perform any type of electrical maintenance on the orange hazardous voltage conductors, the power train components or the accessory power system components while the engine is operating.

Always perform the safe shutdown and de-energizing procedure before performing electrical service on the Power Train Electric Drive System or the Accessory Power System.

  1. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cable (Truck Body Retaining)".

  2. Refer to Troubleshooting, "The Power Train Electrical System Service Shutdown" for the detailed procedure.

  3. Remove cover (1).

  4. Remove panel (2).

  5. Disconnect cable assemblies (3) and cable assemblies (4).

  6. Disconnect ground straps (5). Remove bolts (6) and position cable assemblies (3) and cable assemblies (4) out of the way.

  7. Disconnect cable assemblies (7) and cable assemblies (8).

  8. Disconnect harness assembly (9) and remove the connecting hardware.

  9. Remove bolts (10) and clamps (11). Position cable assemblies (7) and cable assemblies (8) out of the way.

  11. Disconnect hose (13).

  12. Remove bolt (14), washer (15), and mount assembly (16). Repeat this step for the remaining mount assemblies.

  13. Attach Tooling (A), Tooling (B), and a suitable lifting device to inverter cabinet (17). The weight of inverter cabinet (17) is approximately 3039 kg (6700 lb).

  14. Remove inverter cabinet (17).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install inverter cabinet (17) in the reverse order of removal.
