Usage:
Machines Using The 0R-4263 Motor Group
The starter solenoid assembly in the 0R-4263 Motor Group may have an incorrect motor terminal. The motor terminal on the starter solenoid assembly has a metal bus bar that connects the solenoid assembly to the motor. This terminal should have a 1/2-13 external thread. On the incorrectly assembled motor groups, the starter solenoid assembly terminal that connects to the motor has no external threads and instead has an T40 torx head bolt. This may cause existing wires to not fit the terminal.
The 0R-4263 Motor Groups with an incorrect motor terminal on the starter solenoid assembly have a date code of NUDL, NMDL, or NEDL on the motor group name tag and 0196, 0296, or 0396 on the box (shipping) label.
Before installing the 0R-4263 Motor Group the following procedure should be followed.
1. Remove the 9X-4824 Cover if included in the motor group.
2. Check the motor terminal on the starter solenoid assembly. If it has a 1/2-13 external thread, no further action is required. The motor group is ready to install.
3. Remove the T40 torx head bolt from the motor terminal on the starter solenoid assembly. This bolt threads into the end of the stud in the starter solenoid assembly. Do not loosen the nut under the motor terminal on the starter solenoid assembly. This nut keeps the stud tight in the solenoid cap.
4. Install a 3E-7853 Terminal into the motor terminal stud on the starter solenoid assembly with a T40 torx head driver to 10.2 N·m (7.50 lb ft). The 3E-7853 Terminal will tighten the bus bar to the motor terminal stud.
5. Loosely install the 7X-0562 Washer and the 6V-8188 Nut on the motor terminal stud. The washer and nut are used to attach any external wires to the motor terminal. When these wire are attached, tighten to 14.7 ± 3.4 N·m (10.81 ± 2.50 lb ft). Hold the internal Torx head during tightening.
6. Re-install the 9X-4824 Cover if included.
