Description of Change: A new spacer for the rear fender support is now used on the machines listed above. The new spacer is more robust and will prevent distortion. The new spacer will improve the service life of the fender.

The new 178-6450 Spacer (1) is part of the rear fender group. The 178-6450 Spacer is a replacement for 7Y-9798 Pipe .
The 178-6450 Spacer is adaptable to the machine and effective in production with the machine that are listed in Table 1.

Rework Procedure
Use the following procedure to replace 7Y-9798 Pipe with 178-6450 Spacer :

- Remove the rear tire from the machine. Refer Disassembly and Assembly, KENR9467, "Wheel and Tire (Rear) - Remove and Install".
- Remove the rear fender from the machine.
- Cut and remove the existing 7Y-9798 Pipe (A) from support assembly on rear bracket as shown in Illustration 2.

- Grind off any existing spacer material until the area is flush with the bracket as shown in Illustration 3.

- Replace the cutoff spacer with the new 178-6450 Spacer (1). Do not weld the new spacer to the bracket, leave loose.

- Install 8T-4779 Bolt in slot C and slot D as shown in Illustration 4.
- Install fender and support assembly on the machine.
- Install the tire onto the machine. Refer Disassembly and Assembly, KENR9467, "Wheel and Tire (Rear) - Remove and Install".
- Repeat the procedure for other bracket and other side of the machine.
