Usage:
The windshield wiper motor crank assemblies used for parts service have an improved design. The linkage drive pin is swagged solidly in place to provide a more reliable assembly. The purpose of the crank assemblies and corresponding linkage is to convert the rotational motor motion into a back and forth wiping action.
Previously, an external snap ring and spring washer were used to secure the linkage drive pin in place. Although the snap ring and spring washer design kept the drive pin in place, it was not a solid assembly. Under certain conditions, wiper action could cause the drive pin to escape from the crank assembly.
The improved 7T1224 and 7T1225 Crank Assemblies are available for parts service, and are adaptable to all windshield wiper motor assemblies. See the illustrations.
