R1600H Load Haul Dump Hydraulic System Caterpillar

Lift Arm Positioner

Usage:

R1600H 9SD
The lift arm positioner system returns the lift arms to a preset height when the lift arms are lowered. The main components of the lift arm positioner circuit are, lift arm positioner switch (1), magnetic switch (2), Magnet (3) and lift arm positioner valve (4).

(2) Magnetic switch

(3) Magnet

Magnetic switch (2) is located on the loader frame. Magnet (3) is located on the lift arm. Moving the joystick control lever to the LOWER position moves the lift arms downward. As the lift arms move downward, magnet (3) passes the magnetic switch (2). The magnetic switch closes.

Lift arm positioner valve location

Lift arm positioner valve (4) is located on the loader frame forward of the articulation. When magnetic switch (2) closes, power is supplied to lift arm positioner valve (4). The lift arm positioner valve closes.

Lift arm positioner valve (4) controls the flow of pilot oil to and from the main control valve. When the lift arm positioner valve closes, pilot oil from the main control valve is sent to the hydraulic tank through an orifice. The lift spool in the main control valve gradually returns to the CENTER position. The lift arms will come to a controlled stop.

The height at which the lift arms come to rest can be varied by adjusting the position of magnetic switch (2). Moving the magnetic switch upwards will raise the lift arm height. Moving the magnetic switch downwards will lower the lift arm height.
