3408 & 3408B INDUSTRIAL AND MARINE ENGINES Caterpillar

1. Remove bolt (3). Move hoses (5) to one side.

2. Remove oil filters (4) with tool (A).

3. Remove bolts (2) that hold the filter base to the oil cooler and bolts (1) that hold the filter base to the engine block.

4. Remove the filter base.

5. Check the condition of the O-ring seals in the filter base.

Install Oil Filter Base (Industrial Engine)

1. Put clean engine oil on O-ring seals (2). Install the O-rings in the oil filter base.

2. Put oil filter base (1) in position on the engine. Install the bolts that hold the filter base to the oil cooler and the bolts that hold the filter base to the engine block.

3. Install new oil filters according to the instructions on the filter.

4. Check the engine oil for the correct level.
