  1. Lubricate pin (16) and install pin (16) into the sleeves (20) and upper arm (14) from the top.

  1. Install plate (19) with the pin flats facing fore and aft. Loosely secure the plate (18) with three bolts (18) installed finger tight.

  1. Install washer and the nut (17) .

Note: Do not torque nut (17) at this time.

  1. Torque bolts (18) to a torque of 100 ± 20 N·m (74 ± 15 lb ft).

    Illustration 13g03079879

  1. Install washer and the nut (15) . Tighten nut (15) to a torque of 450 ± 60 N·m (332 ± 44 lb ft).

    Illustration 14g03079936

  1. Torque nut (17) to a torque of 450 ± 25 N·m (332 ± 18 lb ft).

Note: Ensure that the upper arm moves freely.

  1. Position accumulator arm (1) . Lubricate and install pin assembly (2) being sure that the head of the pin assembly (2) seats into the recess machined in the top arm (14) .

  1. Before installing nut (3) , pull the top (14) and bottom (8) arms together using a C-clamp. Periodically move the accumulator arm (1) back and forth while tightening clamp.

  1. Use a pry bar or suitable lifting device in order to apply a vertical up force on the lower arm (8) ensuring the lower arm (8) is not bound to the pin assembly (13) .

  1. Retighten C-clamp.

  1. Install nut (3) and the washer . Tighten nut (3) to a torque of 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  1. Continue to tighten nut (3) to line cotter pin up with the next hole.

  1. Install cotter pin so that the loop is recessed into nut.
