Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause serious injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic system. |
Injury to personnel can result if they are not in the operator's view. Allow only essential personnel near the machine, and make sure the personnel are in the operator's view when testing, to prevent injury. Make sure checks are done in an open area. |
Personal injury can result from rotating and moving parts. Moving fan blades and moving parts will throw or cut any object or tool that falls or is pushed into them. Make sure no one is working on, underneath or close to an engine that is running. Make sure the area is free of personnel. |

- Remove bolts (7) and the washers from the front of side panel (6). Remove side panel (6) .
Illustration 6 | g02097476 |
- Disconnect brake supply line (8) from the drum. Install Tool (B) on the port. Hand tighten Tool (B) on the port. Then, loosen the cap by one-half turn. Some oil may escape from the port when the brake seats. Contain any leakage, and dispose of the oil in accordance with local regulations and mandates. Use Tool (C) to plug the hose.
Illustration 7 | g02098993 |
- Disconnect hose (9) from the test block. Use Tool (E) to plug the hose. Use Tool (D) to cap the port.
Illustration 8 | g02101894 |
Note: Hose (9) and hose (10) are disconnected from the block in the next two steps in order to isolate the axle pump from the drum pump. The test block contains balance orifices.
- Disconnect hose (10) from the test block. Use Tool (E) to plug the hose. Use Tool (D) to cap the port.
- Remove plug (11) from port "M5". Install Tool (F) in port "M5".
