If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
The rivets which hold the positive rectifier bridge to the buss bar were not compressed to the proper specification. This may cause the alternator to fail. |

ACTION REQUIRED
Refer to the Service Manual if/as necessary. 1. Inspect the date code on the alternator. Refer to Image1. The format is YMMDD (21013), Year 2 (2012) Month 10 (OCT) Day 13. An alternator that was built YMMDD (21013), Year 2 (2012) Month 10 (OCT) Day 13 and after will also have a witness mark. The mark is a white dot under the country of origin. 2. If the alternator was made before the date YMMDD (21013), Year 2 (2012) Month 10 (OCT) Day 13, then remove the old 366-0669 Alternator and replace with a new 366-0669 Alternator. a. Final installation torque for the locknut is 100 +/- 5 N.m (74 +/- 4 lb ft) NOTE: Use a 10 mm triple square to hold the shaft during pulley tightening. b. (B +) output terminal. Final installation torque for the nut is 15 +/- 3 N.m (11 +/- 2 lb ft). c. Ground terminal final installation torque for the nut is 6 +/- 1 N.m (53 +/- 9 lb in). e. (D +) output terminal. Final installation torque for the nut is 4 +/- 1 N.m (35 +/- 9 lb in). 3. Place the old alternator in the box that the new alternator was shipped in. Refer to the Parts Disposition. |

Make sure to list the service letter program number on the packing slip and include the closed work order paperwork. ***** EAME ***** Hold all 366-0669 Alternators for 30 days for a possible Parts Return Request (PRR). Make sure to list the service letter program number on the packing slip and include the closed work order paperwork. If a Parts Return Request (PRR) is not issued to you after 30 days through the Send-It-Back process, handle the parts in accordance with your warranty bulletin on warranty parts handling. |
