Procedure to Shorten Fumes Disposal Tube on 527 Track-Type Skidder{1317} Caterpillar

Track-Type Skidder:

527 (S/N: 4NS1-638)

Introduction

This Technical Information Bulletin gives information for shortening the fumes disposal hose on certain 527 Track-Type Skidder.

Problem

The length of the engine 4P-8085 Disposal Hose is too long. The disposal hose will make contact with the guard under the engine.

Solution

As an interim corrective action, cut 4P-8085 Disposal Hose per the instructions below.

1. Cut hose to an approximate length of 670 mm (26 inch) (A) .

2. 4D-7388 Clip location (B). Approximate length to the end of the hose from clip is 260 mm (10 inch) (C) .

3. Cut hose at a 45 degree angle (D). Cut the hose at this location (E) .
