Introduction

This special instruction provides the information that is needed for installing the 307-6237 Roading Lights Mounting Gp (KIT) (GERMANY) (ITALY) on the listed machines.

Note: For operation of the 307-6237 Roading Lights Mounting Gp (KIT) (GERMANY) (ITALY), your machine must be equipped with the 258-4131 Lighting Harness As . This lighting harness is provided with the following installations:

• 258-3810 Roading Conversion Ar (GERMANY)

• 258-3812 Roading Conversion Ar (ITALY)

• 258-3884 Roading Conversion Kit (LIGHTS) (MIRRORS)

Make sure that you understand the information which is contained in this special instruction before you begin the installation. Also, make sure that you have all of the parts that are specified before you begin the installation.

1. Drill three holes in each tower plate per the following illustrations:
   • For 246C, 256C, and 277C machines, use Illustration 3.

   • For 262C, 272C, 287C, and 297C machines, use Illustration 3.

   Note: First, mark the locations on the tower plates using the dimensions that are provided in the illustrations. Then, position plate (3) over your marks in order to check the locations for accuracy.

   Note: Hydraulic hoses and electrical harnesses are contained inside the side towers. Use caution as you drill the holes into the tower plates in order to avoid damage to hydraulic hoses and to electrical harnesses.

2. Position a plate (3) on the inside of the tower. Ensure that the three holes in the plate align with the three holes that were drilled into the tower plate.

   Note: Position the flat side of plate (3) against the tower plate.

3. Outside the tower, screw a bolt (10) with a hard washer (9) into the weld nuts on plate (3). See Illustration 4.

   Note: Do not screw in the bolts completely. Leave enough of the length of the bolt outside the tower plate so that bracket (4) can be inserted onto the bolts.

4. Insert a bracket (4) onto bolts (10). See Illustration 5.

   Make sure that the bracket is behind hard washers (9). Then, tighten bolts (10) in order to secure bracket (4) to the tower plate. See Illustration 6.

   Note: Perform all of the previous steps on both the right tower and the left tower.

5. Install harness (6). Inside the right tower, insert the 4-pin plug (RT-C2) through the center hole in plate (3) and into the right bracket (4). Then, route the remainder of harness (6) along the hydraulic hoses on the right lift arm. See Illustration 7.

   Connect the 4-pin receptacle (RT-C1) to the 4-pin plug (K-C14) on the 258-4131 Lighting Harness As .

6. Place a grommet (13) onto harness (6). Then, install grommet (13) so that the grommet extends through the hole in plate (3) and through the hole in the right tower plate.

7. Secure harness (6) to the hydraulic hoses with three straps (7) and with five straps (2), as shown. See Illustration 7.

8. Disconnect the right tail lamp from the 258-4106 Rear Harness As inside the rear door. Then, remove the right tail lamp from the rear door.

9. Connect the right tail lamp to 4-pin plug RT-C2 inside the right bracket (4). See Illustration 8.

   Then, install the right tail lamp into bracket (4). See Illustration 9.

10. Install a reflector (1) on the right bracket (4), as shown. See Illustration 10.

    Note: Install the reflector by removing the protective paper from the adhesive backing on the reflector and by pressing the reflector to the mounting surface.

11. Locate the segment of the 258-4131 Lighting Harness As that is stored inside the left tower. See Illustration 11.

    Loosen this segment of the harness. Insert the 4-pin plug (K-C15) through the center hole in plate (3) and into the left bracket (4). See the description of the harness connector in Table 2.

12. Place a grommet (13) onto harness (6). Then, install grommet (13) so that the grommet extends through the hole in plate (3) and through the hole in the left tower plate. See Illustration 12.

13. Disconnect the left tail lamp from the 293-9044 Rear Lighting Harness As and remove the left tail lamp from the rear door.

    Note: The 293-9044 Rear Lighting Harness As powers the license plate light.

14. Connect the left tail lamp to 4-pin plug K-C15 inside the left bracket (4). See Illustration 13.

    Then, install the right tail lamp into bracket (4). See Illustration 14.

16. Install plates (5) over the holes for the tail lights in the rear door. Secure the plates with two bolts (11), two hard washers (12), and two nuts (8). See Illustration 16.
