Usage:
1. Put identification marks on all the wire and cable assemblies that are connected to the alternator for installation purposes. Disconnect all the wire and cable assemblies.
2. Loosen bolt (4) and washer that hold alternator (5) to the V-Belt tensioning strap.
3. Push alternator (5) toward the engine to loosen the tension on two V-Belts (2). Remove the V-Belts from the alternator drive pulley.
4. Remove bolt (4) and the washer.
5. Remove mounting bolt (1) and the washer that hold alternator (5) to the alternator mounting bracket. Remove the alternator.
6. Remove the locknut and washer (3) that hold the drive pulley to the alternator. If necessary, remove the drive pulley from the alternator.
NOTE: The following steps are for the installation of the alternator.
7. If the drive pulley was removed, install the drive pulley on the alternator shaft. Install washer and locknut (5) that hold the pulley in position. Tighten the locknut to a torque of 50 ± 5 N·m (37 ± 4 lb ft).
8. Put alternator (5) in position on the alternator mounting bracket. Install the washer and mounting bolt (1) that hold it.
9. Install the washer and bolt (4) that hold the alternator to the V-Belt tension adjusting strap. Do not tighten the bolt at this time.
10. Put two V-Belts (2) in position on the alternator drive pulley.
11. Connect the wires and cable assemblies to the alternator in their original locations.
12. Adjust the tension of the alternator V-Belts. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct adjusting procedure.
13. Tighten bolt (4) and the washer.
