Belt - Inspect/Adjust/Replace

Usage:

450E EBL

Note: This engine is equipped with a belt tightener that automatically adjusts the belt to the correct tension.

  • Install the lift cylinder brace. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lift Cylinder Brace - Connect and Disconnect" for more information.

  • Remove the engine access panel on the left side of the machine.

  • Inspect the belt for wear and for cracking.

  • If the belt requires replacement, perform Step 4.a through Step 4.c.

    1. Turn the belt tensioner in order to release the tension from the belt.

    2. Remove the belt.

    3. Install a new belt.

  • Install the engine access panel.

  • Start the engine. Raise the loader arms to the maximum height.

  • Remove the pin and replace the brace for the loader lift arm to the stored position on the loader lift arm.

  • Lower the bucket to the ground.
