Removal Procedure

Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.

1. Open the engine enclosure.

2. Turn the disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Note: The tire is removed for photographic purposes.

3. Remove access panel (1) .

4. Remove the nut and disconnect ground strap (4) from electric starting motor (2) .

5. Remove the nut and disconnect cable assemblies (5) from electric starting motor (2) .

6. Disconnect cable assembly (6) from electric starting motor (2) .

7. Remove bolts (3) and electric starting motor (2) .

Installation Procedure

1. Install electric starting motor (2) and bolts (3) .

2. Connect cable assembly (6) to electric starting motor (2) .

3. Connect cable assemblies (5) to electric starting motor (2) and install the nut.

4. Connect ground strap (4) to electric starting motor (2) and install the nut.

5. Install access cover (1) .

6. Turn the disconnect switch to the ON position.

7. Close the engine enclosure.
