Description of Change: A new retaining ring is available in order to retain the forward high clutch, the second speed clutch and the third speed clutch on the listed machines.

The new retaining ring is a solid retaining ring. The new retaining ring replaces the former spiral lock ring. The new retaining ring improves the retention of the clutch components over the former design.

A new 270-8670 Retaining Ring (1) replaces the former 9U-8875 Retaining Ring for use in retaining the following clutches in the transmissions on the listed machines:

• Forward high clutch

• Second speed clutch

• Third speed clutch

The new 270-8670 Retaining Ring is effective on the machines that are listed in Table 1. The new retaining ring is directly adaptable to all earlier machines.
