Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement. Sudden movement of the machine can cause injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent injury or death, make sure that the area around the machine is clear of personnel and obstructions before operating the machine. |
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil. Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system. Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. |

- Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.
- Move propulsion lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.

- Rotate speed dial (2) to the MINIMUM position.
- Move parking brake switch (3) to the ON position.
- Move screed lower switch (5) to the DOWN position. Lower the screed to the ground.
- If necessary, move throttle control switch (4) to the HIGH IDLE position. Hold the switch in this position for less than 1 second. The engine speed should increase to 2310 rpm.
- Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature with Tool (B) . Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches 40° ± 3°C (105° ± 5°F).
- Move generator switch (6) to the ON position.

- Open the generator outlet panel.
- Insert the probes from Tool (A) into the "240 V" receptacle (7) in order to measure the hertz and voltage performance of the generator.
Shock/Electrocution Hazard! Do not work on this equipment unless you have read and understand the instructions and warnings in the Operation and Maintenance Manuals. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in serious injury or death. |

- Set the throttle to full speed.
- Switch Tool (A) to voltage and check the voltage reading. Tool (A) should read approximately 240 volts.
- Turn the heaters for the screed plates to the ON position.
- Switch Tool (A) to hertz and check the reading. Tool (A) should read approximately 61 ± 1 hertz.
Note: If the frequency fluctuates more than 2 hertz with the heaters on, check the margin pressure. Increasing margin pressure within parameter limits should stabilize the frequency. Increasing margin pressure might necessitate decreasing the flow control setting.
- If the hertz is correct, refer to Step 20. If the hertz is too low or too high adjust the speed of the generator. Refer to Step 16.
- Open the front access door on the left side of the machine.
- Loosen locknut (8) . In order to increase the frequency, rotate adjustment screw (9) counterclockwise. In order to decrease the frequency, rotate the adjustment screw clockwise.

- Hold adjustment screw (9) . Tighten locknut (8) .
- Go to Step 13.
- Remove the tooling. Close the door of the electrical panel.
