Crankshaft Vibration Damper - Inspect
Kerusakan atau kegagalan pada peredam vibrasi akan meningkatkan vibrasi torsional. Vibrasi ini dapat menyebabkan kerusakan pada crankshaft dan komponen engine lainnya. Peredam vibrasi yang memburuk dapat menimbulkan suara bising yang berlebihan pada gear train di berbagai titik pada rentang kecepatan tertentu.

Caterpillar merekomendasikan penggantian peredam vibrasi (1) untuk alasan berikut ini:
- Engine mengalami kerusakan karena crankshaft yang rusak.
- Analisis oli S·O·S mendeteksi keausan pada bantalan depan crankshaft.
- Analisis oli S·O·S mendeteksi banyak terjadi keausan gear train yang tidak disebabkan oleh kekurangan oli.
- selama pemeriksaan terdeteksi adanya kebocoran cairan.
- Rumah rusak.
Baca Bongkar dan Pasang, "Peredam Vibrasi dan Puli - Lepas dan Pasang" untuk prosedur melepas dan memasang peredam.
Peredam vibrasi dapat digunakan kembali jika kondisi di atas tidak ditemukan atau jika peredam vibrasi tidak rusak.
