Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Position fan motor (20) and install bolts (19) .

  1. Install boss (18) . Install nut (17) . Tighten nut (17) to a torque of 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

  1. Position spider assembly (16) and install bolts (15) .

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to the suction fan and fan motor (13) and position the suction fan and fan motor (13) . The weight of the suction fan and fan motor (13) is approximately 50 kg (110 lb). Install bolts (14) .

  1. Install guard assemblies (12) . Install tube assemblies (10) and (11) .

  1. Position duct assembly (9) and install bolts (8) . Tighten clamp (7) to a torque of 13 ± 3 N·m (115 ± 27 lb in).

  1. Position cover assembly (5) and install bolts (6) (not shown). Install radiator cap (4) . Install support assembly (3) .

  1. Position panel assembly (2) and install bolts (1) .

End By: Install the exhaust extension. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Exhaust Extension - Remove and Install".
