Battery or Battery Cable - Inspect/Replace

Usage:

CS-323C DAR

  • Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position. Turn all switches to the OFF position.

  • Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position. Remove the battery disconnect switch key.

  • The battery compartment is located at the rear of the machine in the engine compartment.

  • Remove the covers for the batteries.

  • At the battery disconnect switch, disconnect the negative battery cable that is connected to the frame.

    Note: Do not allow the disconnected battery cables to contact the disconnect switch. Do not allow the disconnected battery cables to contact the other cables. Do not allow the disconnected battery cables to contact the opposite terminal of either battery.

  • Disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery.

  • Disconnect the positive battery cable from the battery.

  • Remove the positive cable from the starter motor.

  • Remove the cable that connects the two batteries together.

  • Perform the necessary repairs. Replace the cables or the batteries, as needed.

  • Reverse the above steps in order to reconnect the batteries.

  • Connect the battery cable at the battery disconnect switch.

  • Install the battery disconnect switch key.

  • Install the battery compartment covers.

  • Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
