The following signs will indicate tooth wear:
- Increased cutting time
- Excessive smoking
- Rough cutting surface
- Excessive temperature of the tooth
The following signs indicate that the disc saw teeth need to be replaced:
- Damaged teeth
- Missing segments of teeth
- Unbalanced load
- Worn cutting edges
Note: A measurement of
Note: When you replace teeth, install the teeth on opposite sides (180°) of the disc saw to each other. An unbalanced load could otherwise occur. Replace all excessively worn teeth at the same time.
- Loosen bolt (2).
- Tap bolt head (2) until tooth (1) has moved outward.
- Remove bolt (2) and tooth (1) from the disc saw.
- Ensure that all mating surfaces are clean and free of burrs.
- Check for clearance. The tooth must be seated tightly against the disc saw.
- Install tooth (1) into the disc saw with bolt (2). Tighten bolt (2) to a torque of
405 ± 40 N·m (300 ± 30 lb ft) .Note: Use a new bolt when you replace a tooth.
- Install the saw guard.
