Introduction

This Special Instruction outlines the steps for installing counterweights on the multi terrain loaders and the skid steer loaders that are listed above.

The counterweights may be required for the following applications: wide buckets, heavy work tools and handling dense material.

The 185-9940 Counterweight and the 185-9941 Counterweight increase the rated operating capacity of a skid steer loader by additional 45.5 kg (100 lb). The 190-8042 Counterweight increases the rated operating capacity of a skid steer loader and a multi terrain loader by an additional 23 kg (50 lb). The 191-9566 Counterweight increases the rated operating capacity of a skid steer loader and a multi terrain loader by an additional 38 kg (84 lb). The 218-6018 Counterweight increases the rated operating capacity of a skid steer loader and a multi terrain loader by an additional 36 kg (80 lb). The 220-8135 Counterweight REDUCES the rated operating capacity of a skid steer loader by 10 kg (22 lb).

The usage of the different counterweights is identified in Table 1.
