Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

  1. Attach Tooling (B) to engine (35). The weight of engine (35) is approximately 1361 kg (3000 lb).

  1. Install engine (35) .

  1. Install bolts (36) .

  1. Install bolts (34) .

  1. Install yoke (32) and damper assembly (33) .

  1. Install bolts (31) .

  1. Install clip (30) .

  1. Install clip (29) .

  1. Connect harness assemblies (28) .

  1. Connect hose assembly (25) .

  1. Install bolts (24) .

  1. Connect hose assemblies (22) and (23). Install clamp (23A) .

  1. Install support (17) .

  1. Install bolts (19) .

  1. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to support (17) .

  1. Install bolts (18) .

  1. Remove clamp (21A) .

  1. Connect three wire assemblies (20) to relay (21) .

  1. Connect harness assembly (16) .

  1. Connect hose assembly (15) .

  1. Connect wire assembly (14) and the retaining hardware.

  1. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to support (7). Install support (7) and install bolts (11) .

  1. Connect harness assembly (11) .

  1. Connect hose assembly (6) to support (7) .

  1. Install bolts (5) .

  1. Connect harness assemblies (9) and (10) .

  1. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to dash assembly (4). The weight of dash assembly (4) is approximately 68 kg (150 lb).

  1. Install dash assembly (4) .

  1. Install bolt (3). Repeat this step for the opposite side.

  1. Install cover (2) and install bolts (1) .

  1. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".

  1. Charge the air conditioner system. Refer to Service Manual, SENR5664, "Air Conditioning and Heating Systems with R-134a Refrigerant" for the correct procedure. Refer to Special Publication, NEDG5065, "Air Conditioning Tools" for the correct tools.

End By:

  1. Install the pump drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pump Drive Shaft - Remove and Install".
  2. Install the rear chassis support. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rear Chassis Support - Remove".
