Fan Drive

Usage:

Remove & Install Fan Drive

Start By:

a. remove fan belts

1. Attach a lifting sling and a suitable lifting device to fan drive (1) as shown.

2. Remove four nuts and washers (2).

3. Remove fan drive (1). Fan drive weighs 23 kg (51 lb).

4. Remove bracket assembly (3).

5. If necessary, remove four studs (4) with Tool (A).

NOTE: To install the fan drive, reverse the removal steps.

End By:

Disassemble & Assemble Fan Drive

Start by:

a. remove fan drive

1. Remove two bolts and bracket (4) from the fan drive bracket assembly.

2. Remove six bolts (1) that fasten fan adapter (3) to pulley (2).

3. Remove two bolts and washer (5) from the fan drive hub.

4. Remove O-ring seal (6) from the fan drive hub.

5. Remove hub (7) from the fan drive.

6. Remove bearing (8), spacer (9) and bearing (10) from hub (7).

7. Remove lip seal (11) from hub (7).

8. Remove pulley (2) from fan bracket assembly (12).

9. Remove spacer (13) from fan bracket assembly (12).

10. If necessary, remove plug (14) inside fan adapter (3).

NOTE: The following steps are for the assembly of the fan drive.

11. If removed, install plug (14) inside fan adapter (3).

12. Install spacer (13) on fan bracket assembly (12).

13. Install pulley (2) on bracket assembly (12).

14. Use Tool (A) to install lip seal (11) into hub (7). Lubricate the sealing lip of lip seal (11) with 1P-0808 Lithium Grease.

15. Install bearing (8), spacer (9) and bearing (10) into hub (7).

16. Install hub (7) in the fan drive.

17. Install O-ring seal (6) on hub (7).

18. Install washer and two bolts (5) in hub (7).

19. Install six bolts (1) fastening pulley (2) to hub (7).

20. Install bracket and two bolts (4) on the fan drive bracket assembly.

21. Fill the fan drive at the grease fitting with 1P-0808 Lithium Grease.
