Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


  1. Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7651, "Cooling System Coolant (DEAC) - Change" or Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7651, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change". The cooling system has a capacity of 1195 L (315 US gal).

  2. Remove tube assembly (1), elbow (2), and the gasket.

  3. Disconnect tube assemblies (3) from regulator housing (4).

  4. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to regulator housing (4). Remove bolts (5) to remove regulator housing (4). The weight of regulator housing (4) is approximately 59 kg (130 lb).

  5. Remove water temperature regulators (6) and gasket (7) from regulator housing (4). Remove seals (8).

  6. Remove vent valve (9).
