The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
A premature failure of the hoist and brake pump is caused by an insufficient amount of oil in the hydraulic tank.
Solution
Add 24 L (6.3 US gal) to the hydraulic reservoir. This will bring the total amount to 154 L (40.7 US gal) of oil in the hydraulic reservoir.
Park the machine on a level surface with the truck body in the DOWN position. Stop the engine and allow the oil to cool. Make sure that the transmission control is in the PARK position.

Check the oil level in the sight gauge (2) when the oil is cold. The oil level must be at the top of the upper green range (3) on sight gauge (2) .
Start the engine. Check the oil level in sight gauge (2) after the accumulators are charged. The oil level will be below the top mark within the upper green range (3) on sight gauge (2). The oil level must be within upper green range (3) .
Note: As the oil approaches operating temperature, the oil level will rise above the top of the sight gauge.
Raise the truck body fully to the Raised position. Check the oil level in lower sight gauge (4). The minimum oil level must be within sight gauge (4) with the engine on.
NOTICE |
---|
Do not use the lower green range in order to check to oil level of the hoist, torque converter, and brake tank. The lower green range will not provide enough oil to the system and machine damage could result. |
If necessary, remove filler cap (1) and add oil.
