Description of Change: The engine mount that is used in the engine mounting group for the above listed Marine Engines has been improved. The diameter of the mounting stud for the engine mount has increased from 7/8 inch to 1 inch. This improved design will increase service life.

Adaptable To: An improved 257-8501 Engine Mount (1) has been designed to replace the 183-6192 Engine Mount for the above listed Marine Engines. The former 183-6192 Engine Mount has been cancelled and replaced by the 257-8501 Engine Mount. The improved engine mount can be identified by a larger mounting stud that is 1 inch in diameter that replaces the former mounting stud that is 7/8 inch in diameter. The new mounts have been designed to fit the existing bolt pattern in the stringer rail. The new mount requires the modification of the existing front engine support bracket to accommodate the larger diameter of the stud. A new 257-8502 Support Bracket for the front of the engine will accept the new engine mount. The transmission mount must be reworked in order to provide the necessary clearance for the larger stud.
If a 183-6192 Engine Mount is replaced on the above listed Marine Engines, all of the engine mounts for the engine must be replaced with the new 257-8501 Engine Mount. Do not mix the former engine mounts with the new engine mounts.
