New Bolts Are Now Used on the Lower Articulation Hitch {7057, 7100, 7117}

Description of Change: New bolts are now used on the lower articulation hitch in order to improve service life. The new bolts will improve the durability of the weld around the lower boss.

Location of Bolts on the Lower Articulation Hitch

(1) Bolts.

The 6V-9167 Bolts replace the 8T-0070 Bolts. The bolts are effective with 994D S/N:3TZ287-Up Wheel Loaders. The bolts are adaptable to first production of the machines that are listed by using the following procedure.

Lower Articulation Hitch

(2) Bolt Holes. (A) Counterbore

Add a counterbore diameter (A) of 24.5 mm (0.965 inch) to a depth of 25 mm (0.984 inch). Drill the bolt holes (2) to a depth of 86 mm (3.40 inch). Use a 18 mm (0.709 inch) drill bit. Tap the bolt holes (2) to a depth of 73 mm (2.87 inch). Use an M20X2.5 tap.
