Prior to the replacement of a module, ensure that replacement is absolutely necessary. It is unusual when a module is the cause of a fault. Always check that the harness code is correct for the engine and that power is available to the main display module. System voltage is required between connector contact 1 of the main display module and connector contact 2 of the engine harness.

Procedure To Replace The Main Display Module

1. Turn the "ECS" switch to the OFF/RESET position.

2. Disconnect the engine harness from the main display module.

3. Make sure that the Replacement Module has the correct part number.

4. Remove the old module and install the Replacement Module.

   Note: If the Replacement Module was previously removed from service, see Testing And Adjusting, "Main Display Module Initialization - Adjust".

5. Connect the engine harness to the Replacement Module.

6. Turn the "ECS" switch to the COOLDOWN/STOP position. Make sure that the Main Display Module successfully completes the Self Test. For more information on this topic, see Testing And Adjusting, "System Self Test".
