Fuel System Primary Filter - Replace

NOTICE

Do not fill fuel filters with fuel before installing them. Contaminated fuel will cause accelerated wear to fuel system parts.

  1. Open the engine access door on the back side of the machine. Use the prop rod to hold the engine access door open. The fuel filter is located on the right side of the engine compartment on the back side of the machine.

  1. Remove the cap (1), the top plate, the O-ring, and the bayonet. This stops the flow of fuel into the filter element.

  1. Support the filter element (3) and rotate the locking ring (2) counterclockwise. Remove the locking ring.

  1. Remove the fuel filter. Inspect the fuel filter for debris by cutting the filter open. Discard the filter properly.

  1. Clean the mounting base of the fuel filter. Remove any part of the old seal that remains on the mounting base of the fuel filter.

  1. Coat the seal of the new fuel filter with clean diesel fuel.

  1. Install the new fuel filter by hand. Rotate the locking ring clockwise.

  1. Replace the bayonet, the O-ring, the top plate, and the cap.

  1. Prime the fuel system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System Priming Pump - Operate".

  1. Close the engine access door.
