This manual covers the troubleshooting for the various systems of the machine. A description of each component in the system is given in the systems operation section of the manual for that system. The use of the components is also given in the systems operation section for that system. The systems operation section of the manual for each system also includes information on the particular functions of the control system and the components that are used in those functions.

The machine ECM (14) gets input from the following components:

• Autoshift switch (9)

• Downshift switch (10)

• Transmission direction control switch (15)

• Transmission neutralizer override switch (16)

• Transmission direction and speed control lever (17)

• Parking brake switch (19)

• Intermediate speed sensors (20)

• Torque converter output speed sensor (22)

• Transmission oil temperature sensor (24)

• Output speed sensors (25)

• Engine ECM (28)

• Brake pressure sensor (29)

The machine ECM then processes this information in order to send control signals to the following outputs:

• Back up alarm (21)

• Modulating control valves (23)

• Dash panel cluster (26)

• Engine ECM (28)

The machine ECM also communicates via that CAT data link (11) with the following components:

• Service connectors (18)

• Caterpillar monitoring system control (12)

The machine ECM also communicates with the engine ECM (28) via the CAN data link (27).
