Usage:
1. Protect the split master link serrations with wooden wedges until installation of the tracks. Before installation of the tracks, remove all dirt, rust, paint and other debris from the serrations and the bolt holes in each split master link.
2. Inspect the contact surfaces on the master shoe for damage and wear. Do not reuse worn or damaged master shoes. Use new master bolts each time you assemble track groups.
3. Install the tracks on the machine and put the master links together. With the serrations of one master link fully engaged, there must be no more than 3.0 mm (0.12") gap between the serrations of the other link. If there is more than 3.0 mm (0.12") gap, the misalignment must be corrected.
4. Put 2P2506 or 5P3931 Thread Lubricant on the master bolt threads, body and washer face. Install the master link track shoe. All four bolts should be turned all the way into their bores by hand. If the bolts do not turn freely, the binding or misalignment must be corrected.
5. Tighten the master bolts to the initial torque, plus part of a turn as given in the chart.
