533 and 543 Wheel Feller Bunchers Caterpillar

Water Cleaning System (Pressurized) - Test

Usage:

543 ASJ
Remove the water hose from behind the seat. Turn the shut off valve to the ON position. Squeeze the nozzle in order to expel the water. There will be pressure as the water is expelled. If there is very little water pressure, purge the water cleaning system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Water Cleaning System (Pressurized) - Purge" for detailed instructions.

After you test the water cleaning system, the tank must be refilled. The tank must also be pressurized.

Turn the filler plug counterclockwise for two full turns. Do not turn the filler plug more than two turns until all of the pressure in the tank is relieved. Make sure that the shut off valve is in the OFF position. Fill the tank.

Note: If the outside temperature is below freezing, use a propylene glycol based antifreeze in the water tank. The antifreeze should be a non-toxic antifreeze that is used in recreational vehicles.

When the tank is full, reinstall the filler plug.

Connect an air hose to the valve that is located between the shut off valve and the pressure gauge. Pressurize the tank to 345 kPa (50 psi) according to the pressure gauge.
