570B Wheel Harvester and 580B Wheel Harvester Engine Supplement Caterpillar

Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Prepare the machine for disassembly and assembly procedures. For additional information, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Preparation for Disassembly".

Note: Put identification on all lines, hoses, wires, and tubes for installation purposes. Use caps and plugs on all lines, hoses, and tubes in order to prevent fluid loss or contamination of the systems.

1. Open the radiator grill.

2. Remove bolt (1) and the washer from the hose clip on the refrigerant line.

3. Remove three bolts (2), the washers, and refrigerant condenser (3) .

4. Secure refrigerant condenser (3) to the oil cooler.

5. Disconnect harness assemblies (3A) .

6. Disconnect the harness assembly from connector (4) and backup alarm (5) .

7. Disconnect harness assemblies (6) .

8. Cut cable straps (7) .

9. Remove bolts (13) .

10. Remove cover (12), and disconnect the harness assembly for the toggle switch.

11. Remove bolt (10) from actuator assembly (11) .

12. Remove bolts (9) which hold the engine hood to the machine.

13. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to engine hood (8) .

14. Remove engine hood (8) from the machine. The weight of engine hood (8) is approximately 78 kg (170 lb).

1. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to engine hood (8). The weight of engine hood (8) is approximately 78 kg (170 lb).

2. Install engine hood (8) on the machine.

3. Install bolts (9) .

4. Install bolt (10) on actuator assembly (11) .

5. Connect the harness assembly for the toggle switch. Install cover (12) and bolts (13) .

7. Install cable straps (7) .

8. Connect the harness assemblies to connector (4) and backup alarm (5) .

10. Install refrigerant condenser (3), three bolts (2), and the washers.

11. Install the hose clip on the refrigerant line. Install bolt (1) and the washer.

12. Close the radiator grill.
