Test Step 1. CHECK THE INPUT SIGNALS.
- Ensure that the diagnostic indicator is off.
- Check the input signals from the switch to the ECM.
Expected Result:
One input is shorted to ground and the other input signal is open to ground.
Results:
- YES - The inputs are correct.
Repair: Proceed to Troubleshooting, "MID 081 CID 0190 FMI 08 " or proceed to Troubleshooting, "MID 081 CID 0191 FMI 08 ".
Stop.
- NO - The inputs are NOT correct.
Repair: Proceed to Troubleshooting, "MID 081 CID 0368 FMI 08" or proceed to Troubleshooting, "MID 081 CID 0621 FMI 08 ".
Stop.
