Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Use tooling (B) to install a new seal (18) .

- Install snap ring (17) .

- Install coupling hub (16) onto the spline of the piston pump until there is contact with the inner retaining ring.

- Insert Pre-Loctited 252-9197 Bolt (15) and tighten to a torque of 102 ± 5 N·m (75.2 ± 3.6 lb ft).
Note: Apply Tooling (C) to bolt (15) if Loctite is not applied.
- Coupling hub (16) must slide into nylon flange (17) for proper installation.

- Attach a suitable lifting device to the piston pump. Weight of the piston pump is 57 kg (125 lb). Slide the piston pump toward the rear of the machine for installation.

- Use Tooling (A) to install the washers and bolts (14) . Tighten the bolts to a torque of 136 N·m (100 lb ft).

- Connect hoses (13) , (12) , (11) and (10) to the left side of the piston pump.
Note: Check all O-rings on all hoses prior to the connection of all hoses.

- Connect hoses (9) , (8) , (7) and (6) to the left side of the piston pump.

- Connect hoses (5) and (4) to the right side of the piston pump.

- Connect hoses (3) , (2) and (1) to the right side of the piston pump.

End By:
- Install the gear pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly RENR4812, "Gear Pump - Install".
- Install the hydraulic tank. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly RENR4812, "Hydraulic Tank - Install".
