Window Wiper and Wiper Motor (Rear) - Install

Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Do not operate the wiper motor before the wiper arm assembly is installed.

A new wiper motor is preset in the parked position. If the wiper motor is operated before installation of the wiper arm assembly, misalignment will occur. This can cause damage to the wiper motor, the wiper arm assembly, and/or the window.

Do not manually rotate the wiper arm assembly on the shaft.


Note: The rear window must be in the DOWN position.

  1. Install window wiper motor (21) in position.

  1. Install two spacers (18) in position. Spacers (18) are inside the cab.

  1. Install two screws and the washers (17). Tighten screws (17) to a torque of 6 ± 1 N·m (4 ± 0.7 lb ft). Screws and the washers will secure the window wiper motor.

  1. Connect electrical connector (20) .

  1. Install wire tie-wrap (19). Wire tie-wrap (19) will secure electrical connector (20) .

  1. Install the headliner in position. Install two plastic retainers (11). Install two plastic retainers to the opposite side of the headliner. The plastic retainers will secure a portion of the headliner.

  1. Connect two wires (10) to light (9) .

  1. Install light (9) into the headliner.

  1. Install face plate opening (8) in position. Secure face plate opening (8) with four screws (7) .

  1. Install speaker cover (6) in position. Secure speaker cover (6) with four screws (5) .

  1. Install the speaker cover on the opposite side.

  1. Install two washers and one nut (16) on the shaft of the window wiper motor.

  1. Apply 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound to the threads of the window wiper motor.

  1. Install window wiper (14). Install the window wiper at the top of the rear window.

  1. Install the washer and nut (12). Torque nut (12) to 24 ± 1 N·m (17 ± 1 lb ft).

  1. Close cap (13) over nut (12) .

  1. Install tube (15) of the washer fluid bottle on window wiper blade (14) .

  1. Connect the hose of the washer fluid bottle to the fitting. Install the hose to dimension (A). Dimension (A) is 1.0 mm (0.04 inch).

    Note: Do not use petroleum lubricants on the hose ends. Do not stretch the hose between connections.

  1. Install mirror (1). Secure the mirror with washer (4) and nut (3) .

  1. Install cap (2) on mirror (1) .

  1. Move the start switch to the ON position.

  1. Move the switch of the rear window wiper to the ON position. Check the movement of the wiper blade and the motor operation.
