The following procedure provides the necessary information that is needed to retrofit the 160-3794 Counterweight Gp to earlier Challenger Agricultural Tractors. The 160-3794 Counterweight Gp is presently being used on 1999 and later Row Crop Tractors and Tillage Tractors. The information that is necessary for the installation of the 176-5801 Deflector is also included in this article.
Note: You must remove all former front counterweights and chin weights from your machine. After this modification, use only the counterweights that are listed in this installation procedure.

- Increase the diameter of front two holes (C) on each side of the frame rail from 19.00 mm (0.748 inch) to 22.00 mm (0.866 inch).

- Install the 160-3794 Counterweight Gp. The items are listed in Table 2 and Illustrations 3, 4, and 5.

Installation of 176-5801 Deflector

- Remove bolt (J) and the washer that holds the clip for the oil cooler line. This clip is on the top inner surface of the left hand frame rail. Save the parts for later use.

- Position 176-5801 Deflector (33) on top of the frame rails. The left tab on the deflector must slide under the clip for the oil cooler line.
- Loosely install two 8T-4196 Bolts (31) with two 8T-4121 Hard Washers (30) into the weld nuts. The bolts go through the front deflector lip and into the clearance holes on the frame crossmember. See Illustration 6.
- Loosely reinstall bolt (J), the washer, and the clip that was removed in Step 1. These parts retain the left tab on deflector (33) .
- Loosely install 8T-4196 Bolt (31) and 8T-4222 Plated Washer (32). This will retain the right side tab on deflector (4) to the right frame rail (clearance hole with weld nut).
- Adjust 176-5801 Deflector (33) for the proper side to side alignment.
- Tighten three 8T-4196 Bolts (31) .
- Tighten bolt (J) that holds the clip for the oil cooler line.
