A New Electronic Solenoid Valve Improves the Release of Auxiliary Hydraulic Pressure {5130, 5264, 5479}

Usage:

216 4NZ
Skid Steer Loaders:
216 (PIN: 4NZ1-846 and 847-UP)
226 (PIN: 5FZ1-2111 and 2112-UP)
236 (PIN: 4YZ1-1349 and 1350-UP)
246 (PIN: 5SZ1-1155 and 1156-UP)

Description of Change: A new electronically controlled solenoid valve group is now used in all new skid steer loaders. The new solenoid valve group improves the release of auxiliary hydraulic pressure.

Adaptable To: The new 185-9409 Solenoid Valve Group replaces the former 155-5986 Check Valve. The new solenoid valve is part of the 185-9407 Interlock Manifold Valve and Mounting. The new solenoid is effective with the 216 (PIN: 4NZ47-UP), 226 (PIN: 5FZ2112), 236 (PIN: 4YZ1350), and the 246 (PIN: 5SZ1156) Skid Steer Loaders. The new solenoid valve is adaptable to the 216 (PIN: 4NZ1-846), 226 (PIN: 5FZ1-2111), 236 (PIN: 4YZ1-1349), and the 246 (PIN: 5SZ1-1155) Skid Steer Loaders.

Certain procedures must be done in order for the new solenoid to be installed correctly. Refer to the following information for installation information.

Before you replace the former solenoid valve with the new solenoid valve, the coil from the new solenoid valve must be removed. The coil is removed by loosening the coil's retaining nut.

Note: The new solenoid valve must be tightened to a torque of 50 ± 5 N·m (36.88 ± 3.69 lb ft).After you have installed the new solenoid valve, attach the coil to the solenoid valve with the coil's retaining nut.

Note: The retaining nut must be tightened to a torque of 13 ± 1.5 N·m (9.6 ± 1 lb ft).In order for the new solenoid to function, a new 186-0238 Harness is required to connect the solenoid and the interlock manifold valve to the electronic control systems of the machine. Refer to the above illustration for installation information.

Note: Only the following machines will need a new harness: 216 (PIN: 4NZ1-665), 226 (PIN: 5FZ1-1874), 236 (PIN: 4YZ1-1228) and 246 (PIN: 5SZ1-1065).The new electronic solenoid valve requires flash downloading of the new 186-0089 Work Tool Software Group (Auxiliary). Once flash downloading is complete, the new software must be programmed into the Auxiliary Hydraulic Electronic Control Module (ECM). The new software group is obtained from the flash files which are found in the Service Information System (SIS).

Check all machine functions for correct operation.
